Surrogate Mother Requirements

● All surrogates must be age 21 to 38 and have given birth previously. You must have at least one child at home that you are currently raising. You can have no history of any complications in childbirth.● Only U.S. citizens or people who have the legal right to work in the United States are eligible.● You must have no history of arrests.● Surrogates must reside in one of the following states where surrogacy is legal (in alphabetical order): Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin.● BMI (body mass index) can be no greater than 30, in some cases a somewhat lower BMI may also be a problem.

● You cannot be on federal or state assistance. (Note: There are some forms of assistance that may not disqualify you; contact us for details.)● Have reliable transportation available to you on a regular basis.● Gestational surrogates must be in good psychological and physical condition.● Surrogates cannot smoke, use any recreational drugs, or have a history of drug abuse; they cannot have any smokers in their households. Generally speaking, we are looking for reliable individuals who live in a healthy and responsible manner.● In addition, surrogates will undergo a thorough screening process including a detailed medical examination and history, a home visit, tests for substances and certain past illnesses, and a criminal background check.
