LGBT Services

Global Surrogacy Services is proud to be at the forefront of providing outstanding LGBT services. Thanks to major advances in both the medical and social spheres, we now live in a world where it’s possible for people of all genders and orientations to participate in the conception of a child of their very own. Our job as an agency is to facilitate a process where parents can take advantage of gestational surrogacy in a way that will make them feel comfortable and will foster an enriching and joyful experience for all parties.

Of course, all intended parents have many questions as they begin the long journey to parenthood, but members of the LGBTQ community may often have special concerns. Such matters as laws in different nations or U.S. states, privacy, and compatibility with a surrogate may be particularly sensitive. At all times, Global Surrogacy Services maintains a compassionate, friendly, and thoroughly professional approach while working with all kinds of intended parents. We are proud to say that people of all orientations have thanked us for our help as a guide along the path to parenthood.

The Gestational Surrogacy Process

The process for LGBTQ intended parents is not very different from the process for cisgender heterosexual couples. On a medical and biological level, the process is often identical. Moreover, the legal aspects of the arrangements are becoming increasingly similar in many parts of the nation and the world.

When intended parents come to Global Surrogacy Services for an initial consultation, we take time to sensitively obtain the information that is needed to move the surrogacy process forward. Matters discussed will include medical history, the reasons behind the decision to have children, and intended parents’ overall daily life and circumstances. We will also discuss intended parents’ expectations, their thoughts regarding how much or how little contact they wish to have with their surrogate, and working out many of the practical aspects of the arrangement.

The next step involves setting up both the medical and legal sides of the process. For obvious reasons, choosing the right doctors and lawyers is crucial to ensure that the process is successful. In terms of legality, the degree of complexity may vary based on numerous factors, including the place of residence of the intended parents.

Finding a Surrogate

For LGBTQ and all other intended parents, choosing the correct surrogate is probably the most important step in the process. All prospective surrogates go through a detailed screening process to ensure they are able to complete the process both physically and psychologically, but that is only one step of the process. An appropriate match is important for the obvious medical and practical reasons, but it’s especially crucial in cases where there will be extensive contact between the surrogate and the intended parent(s). As with any other human relationship, all parties should be compatible in terms of values and their respective personalities. A major part of that initial meeting will be socializing to make sure that all parties are comfortable with each other, as well as with the overall arrangement.

Once intended parents and a surrogate have agreed in theory that they are a good match, there will be a get together – done in person, when possible – where the intended parents and the surrogate will meet. At that meeting, all parties will have a chance to see if they feel comfortable with each other, and are ready to go forward with the arrangement.
